Located in Midtown East, Turtle Bay is a largely residential area of Manhattan. This neighborhood got its name when after the former Dutch cove of the East River. In the past, tons of slaughterhouses and industrial power plants lined the streets here. Today, because it is located close to the United Nations headquarters, you can find a lot of consulates here. In addition to this, its borders of the East River and Lexington Avenue, along with East 43^rd and 53^rd streets, house various retail locations. While mom and pop shops were once common, now storefronts like Starbucks and Whole Foods took over. Transportation is easy to find because of its location in Midtown East. For example, the E, F, and M trains are nearby, as are the M102 and M103 buses. Turtle Bay is a great option for retail stores that appeal to any generation.
