Rockefeller Center is a known neighborhood in Manhattan for its famous annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This is not all it’s good for, though. Rockefeller center as a neighborhood exists between 48^th and 51^st Streets and stretches between 5^th and 6^th Avenues. It got its name based on John D. Rockefeller, yet he was not involved in any form of creation of the area. Rather, his son, John D. Rockefeller Jr. was. Today, this neighborhood is regarded as one of the most popular and high-end location for corporate offices and office tenants. Retail spots like Michael Kors, Galerie Saint Gill, and Anthropologie are here, as are corporate locations of AT&T, NorthStar, CBS, and Tishman Speyer. Because it’s such a central area of NYC, tons of transportation is nearby. The M50, QM1 – 6, and the B, D, F, and M trains are all one block away.
