As the name suggests, Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village is a largely residential area consisting of 10 brick apartment buildings. It was established post World War II due to the housing shortage that came after the Depression. Today, Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village the area is growing in popularity. Because it’s traditionally viewed as a residential area, there is little room for retailers or office tenants. That being said, there are drug stores like Walgreens and cafes like Bruno Ravioli here. The L train, M14D-SBS, M9, and M23-SBS buses are on the borders of this neighborhood which are East 14^th and 20^th Streets, as well as 1^st Avenue and Avenue C. If you’re willing to deal with potential competition of finding a retail spot open to rent or buy in this small area, the payout would potentially be worth it.
