The Theater District is one of the most well-known neighborhoods in the borough of Manhattan. Popularized by the booming performances on Broadway, this is a hot spot for art, culture, and pedestrian traffic throughout all times of the day. This area began attracting the theater culture in the mid 1800’s when the Metropolitan Opera House moved here from its previous location. Ever on, the Theater District is teeming with, as the name suggests, theater performances. Between its borders of West 54th and 40th Streets, as well as 6th and 8th Avenues, plenty of transportation is available due to its central location. The A, C, E, B, D, F, and M trains, as well as plenty of buses, are easily accessible. Not just the theater is in this area, though. Retail locations like the NHL Store, M&M’s World, and Sephora are popular spots here. Additionally, corporate offices like the New York Times building are here, too. Generally, any business that can attract attention from theater lovers will be successful in this area. To view the Theater District on Google Maps, click here.
