Retail Space
The residential complex of Tudor City is one of the largest and most recognizable of its kind in Manhattan. Located between 1st and 2nd Avenue, along with East 40th and 43rd Streets, the area is relatively small and contains little retailers. Tudor City was first developed after the Civil War to allow housing for a larger population. It was the largest complex of middle-class Manhattan in its time. Today, retail locations like Conrad’s Bike Shop and Sussex Wine and Spirits cater to the residential population here. Other storefronts include restaurants like Tudor City Steakhouse and McFadden’s Saloon. Unfortunately, because the area is so small, no significant transportation is directly within Tudor City’s borders. The only bus available is the M42. For businesses catering to a residential feel, Tudor City is a great neighborhood option. Check out Tudor City here on Google Maps.
