Just as the name suggests, the Meatpacking District of Manhattan was once known strictly for there being tons of slaughterhouses and meatpacking plants in the late 1800’s. Today, the neighborhood is a hip and commercialized area with eclectic vibes. Such can be seen through the Highline and Whitney Museum of American Art. Retail locations like Sugar Factory, Lululemon, Bumble and Bumble, and Tory Burch play off this hip neighborhood. Among these are corporate offices of Oribe Hair, Canali USA, and Alibaba Group. Getting from its borders of 11th Avenue, Gansevoort Street, West 14th Street, and Hudson is simple – take either the M11, M12, or M14-SBS bus. The Meatpacking District is a great place to develop a business that attracts people from the growing hip culture of New York City.
